The Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 has undergone another certification. This time it was the Chinese 3C authority, with charging support for the upcoming foldable coming to light. The new Fold 3 charges with a cable with 67 watts, just like its predecessor and the first model from Xiaomi’s foldable series.
The Xiaomi Mix Fold 3, model number 2308CPXD0C, has been certified with an MDY-12-EF charger, a classic Xiaomi adapter. Xiaomi has been using the charger since 67 watt charging started in mid-2020. Interestingly, the charging power remains the same, but everything else should be different, according to one of the company presidents. The big question is whether the foldable device will be sold outside of China. The two predecessors remained exclusive to the domestic Chinese market.
The Mix Fold 3 is slated to launch in August with a thinner and lighter body. Production runs in a completely new facility with updated production systems. Xiaomi is continuing to develop the cameras on the back together with Leica, while a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is expected to be used as the chipset. The next generation of Xiaomi’s under-display camera is also on board. As for the main camera setup, there are already reports of a periscope zoom lens. In addition, the new Fold should be waterproof.
