Some rumors from the last few months have indicated that Xiaomi’s Black Shark gaming division is currently suffering from staff and production problems. But that didn’t hurt the rumors about the supposedly upcoming Black Shark 6. In fact, most of the technical data leaked back at the end of February, including conflicting statements about the chipsets.

The latest leak comes from a Chinese second-hand market called Youxianyu. Someone there has sold an early prototype of what is rumored to be a Black Shark 6. The price is CNY 3,900 ($560/€530), but that’s obviously not the final price of the Xiaomi phone. The caption reads about the Black Shark 5 Pro instead. However, that’s only the smartphone that took the pictures. If you look at the camera setup, the differences to the predecessor are immediately noticeable.
The Black Shark 6 prototype, on the other hand, shows a brand new design of the camera module. Also, there seems to be both a leather-backed version and a glass-backed version. The offering also mentions a 12/512 GB storage configuration, a legacy 64-megapixel main camera with a Sony IMX686 sensor, and support for 120-watt fast wired charging. Previous reports also indicated a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and a 5,000 mAh battery.
