Xiaomi has announced the support window for the newly announced Xiaomi 13T Pro / Redmi K60 Ultra (aka Extreme Edition) in China. The phone receives at least 4 major Android version updates and 5 years of over-the-air security patches. In addition, it will belong to the first wave of Xiaomi smartphones that will receive the update to the next interface MIUI 15.
Xiaomi has thus adopted the update policy already known from Samsung for the 13T Pro / Redmi K60 Ultra. The Koreans also guarantee 4 Android versions and 5 years of security patches for most of their more expensive Galaxy phones.
Xiaomi spread the news via Redmi’s official Weibo page. On the other hand, Xiaomi does not specify the number of MIUI updates to which the mobile phone is entitled. In the world of Xiaomi, MIUI updates tend to come many years after the Android version updates have stopped.
The Redmi K60 Ultra will launch worldwide as the Xiaomi 13T Pro. There should be slightly better cameras on board, but most likely nothing will change on the 6.67-inch OLED display with 144 Hz. Just like the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ chipset and the 5,000 mAh battery, which charges with a fast 120 watts.
