Rumor has it that the Xiaomi 13 Ultra with four main cameras will be launched at least in China in March or April.

Later this week, Xiaomi announces international availability for the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro, which were originally launched in China in December. However, a Xiaomi 13 Ultra is still missing in the portfolio. The company boss has announced that there will be no 13S Ultra this year. However, he didn’t mention anything about the regular 13 Ultra, which has been hitting the rumor mill more and more in recent weeks.

The Xiaomi 12S Ultra was launched in July 2022, so its successor still has plenty of time until arrival. Today, several images of protective cases that are said to be intended for the Xiaomi 13 Ultra have come to light. What immediately catches the eye is the huge, circular camera island.

Basically, this is nothing new, because the Xiaomi 12S Ultra also had a similar camera module on the back. The protective cases also match an alleged sketch of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. As well as an alleged live image, both of which surfaced in China last week. The arrangement of the sensors of the Xiaomi smartphone seems to be similar. The oval cutout at the top could accommodate the LED flash. Plus there are four round cutouts for the main cameras.

Rumor has it that the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will be launched in March or April, at least in China. It’s supposed to have a big focus on camera features, which isn’t surprising given the Ultra label. According to an older leak, the 13 Ultra will inherit the 1-inch main sensor from the 12S Ultra but will add gimbal stabilization. All four cameras on the rear will have autofocus and there will also be a dToF (direct time-of-flight) sensor.
