Xiaomi has already confirmed that the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will launch later this month. After the Xiaomi 13, the 13 Pro and the 13 Lite, a real flagship from the Chinese is finally coming onto the market again. The brand has yet to announce the exact launch date of the upcoming Ultra variant. A Chinese online retailer didn’t want to wait that long and has now teased a big Xiaomi event in its app.
The circled section of the app translates as “Xiaomi New Product Launch” with the date April 18 at 19:00 local time. The Xiaomi 13 Ultra is not explicitly mentioned. But the date more or less matches a report from last month about an alleged online teaser that gave April 17 as the start date. So we are only a week away from the start. Xiaomi should therefore announce the official date in the next few days.
Similar to the Xiaomi 13 series, the company is again working with optics specialist Leica on the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. First and foremost, it revolves around the lenses of the legendary camera manufacturer. Modern smartphone lenses usually have at least six of these elements packed into a very small space. So the technical challenges are very high. The original announcement also came directly from Leica and also revealed that the Xiaomi smartphone will be sold worldwide.
Xiaomi 13 Ultra with USB-C 3.0 port
According to a recently published leak, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra is also expected to finally switch to a USB-C 3.0 port. USB 3.0 offers faster speeds and more efficient power management than USB 2.0. You can also connect high-resolution displays with an HDMI port directly from your cell phone. However, the change from the outdated USB-C 2.0 standard is long overdue. Even the current flagship Xiaomi 13 Pro still transmits data via USB-C 2.0. The Ultra is supposed to be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. The latest LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.1 storage are also on board. Finally, the new Ultra will reportedly support 90-watt fast wired charging and 50-watt wireless charging.
