Launching in new markets today, the Xiaomi 13 series also brings with it a new member – the Xiaomi 13 Lite. The “Lite” designation clearly points to the middle class, but the new Xiaomi smartphone costs only half as much as the normal Xiaomi 13, not to mention the 13 Pro.

It is powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset, which offers 20% more GPU and 30% more AI performance than the Xiaomi 12 Lite’s Snapdragon 778G. However, Xiaomi has neither updated the RAM nor the storage – LPDDR4X and UFS 2.2 are still installed. Two configurations are available, 8/128GB and 8/256GB. In addition, although Xiaomi’s latest interface MIUI 14 is on board, it is still based on Android 12.
The main camera of the Xiaomi 13 Lite resolves 50 megapixels on a Sony IMX766 sensor. The chip is 1/1.56 inch in size with 1.0 µm pixels (2.0 µm with binning enabled). The aperture is f/1.8 and captures 123% more light than the 12 Lite’s 108-megapixel sensor with an f/1.9 lens. The 8 megapixel ultrawide camera has a 1/4 sensor (Sony IMX355) with a field of view of 119 degrees. Xiaomi also installs a 2 megapixel macro camera.

Xiaomi combines the 32 megapixel selfie camera with an 8 megapixel depth sensor in an island module in the middle of the display. The depth sensor is used for more natural bokeh effects in selfies. The camera also has a 100-degree field of view and automatically adjusts the framing of the shot for group photos.
The Xiaomi 13 Lite also features a 6.55-inch 12-bit curved AMOLED display with Dolby Vision, HDR10+ support and a 120Hz refresh rate. It also features PWM dimming at 1920Hz and a touch sampling rate of 240 Hz. The maximum brightness is 1,000 nits and the resolution is 1,080 x 2,400 pixels (20:9). The front is protected by Gorilla Glass 5. There is also an IP53 rating for resistance to dust and water splashes.
