When the Apple iPhone 14 Pro series launched with the Dynamic Island, it was immediately clear that Android manufacturers would soon copy the feature. There is even an app called dynamicSpot that you can use to get the Dynamic Island on your Android smartphone. Realme is also rumored to be working on a similar feature. Now, with the Xiaomi 13 Lite 5G, the first cell phone is on the way that comes with the function natively.
As usual with Xiaomi, the Xiaomi 13 Lite is a rebranded device – the Civi 2 from October last year. The version for the international markets has now appeared in a first video. Tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore showed an unboxing of the new Xiaomi smartphone and shared some of the specs.

In terms of hardware, the Xiaomi 13 Lite offers a 6.55-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. A Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset takes over the drive. There is a 50-megapixel main camera, a 20-megapixel ultra-wide snapper, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. Two 32-megapixel selfie cameras work on the front. The 13 Lite has yet to be officially launched. Xiaomi could drop the covers along with the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro at the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2023.
So far there is still a big difference between the Dynamic Island on Apple smartphones and the Xiaomi version, which accommodates the two front cameras. Xiaomi has not yet developed any software that offers all the functions of the Apple version. However, the Chinese manufacturer could still opt for third-party apps. The Xiaomi 13 Lite may also get completely new software features to make optimal use of the Dynamic Island.
