Xiaomi released a beta version of MIUI 14 based on Android 14 for the first time in May. The first stable version of the software for the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro is now available, although it is of course still in beta status. After all, Google itself has not yet released an official and stable version of Android 14 to the general public.
Google had achieved platform stability with its Android 14 Beta 5 update about a week ago. And it seems like Xiaomi is done with most of the beta testing as well. It is worth noting that the new stable beta version for the Xiaomi smartphones is already based on the Android 14 beta 5. This step can only be welcomed, as Xiaomi used to take a long time to update to new OS versions in the past.
However, the new beta is severely limited. For example, the Xiaomi 12T was still part of the first Android 14 beta version. The latest version, on the other hand, is only available for the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro. Besides, it’s also important to note that the update has only appeared in China so far. But sooner or later it will also reach other markets. Anyone who is already registered for the beta program will automatically receive the new firmware as an OTA download.
