WhatsApp update: voice status and new design

WhatsApp has once again received several new features, including voice status updates and a new design with a new dark mode.
WhatsApp Design History

WhatsApp today released a new feature – the ability to record voice status updates up to a minute long. Previously, the app supported sharing videos up to a minute long as status updates. Now, the same length can be used for voice notes as status as well.

Previously, if you wanted to share a voice note on your status page, it was allowed to be 30 seconds or less. So, you now have practically double the time. The new feature should be available in the latest version of WhatsApp on both iOS and Android. Note that you may not only need the latest version of the app to create longer voice notes, but also to listen to them.

WhatsApp gets design update and darker dark mode

In addition, WhatsApp has unveiled its latest design with a native bottom navigation bar. The app has also received a new coat of paint, with the new colors chosen from 35 different options. WhatsApp says it has focused on deeper tones to reduce eye strain in low-light conditions. That’s why the app’s new dark mode is now a shade darker to make it easier to read messages.

It’s now easier to send photos and videos on Apple smartphones thanks to a new attachment layout. Instead of a full-screen menu, you get an expandable bar that makes it easier to see options when sending media and documents.

The icons in the app are also getting an update with a rounder, outlined style, and the default background in chats is also new.
