WhatsApp Message Yourself

WhatsApp has started rolling out a very handy feature. It’s called “Message Yourself” and is available for both iOS and Android. The feature was originally part of a beta test version that is now coming to all users.

With Message Yourself you can send yourself a message. The messages end up in a separate chat that only you can see and open. You can post messages to capture important reminders and notes, save web links or upload documents and voice memos.

The feature is also known from other platforms – Telegram has had it since launch. WhatsApp only publicly tested this feature in October. Some users had already created a group in the past and then removed all other members to create a private chat for themselves.

The update doesn’t seem to be available just yet, but it should come in a few weeks at the latest.
