The latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android has a dual panel interface for tablets. What usually happens in these cases is that such new features are tested in the beta channel for a while, which can last weeks or even months. The new functions then reach all users or disappear into digital nirvana forever.

We’re hoping for the first option, of course, since the dual-panel view on tablets makes a lot more sense than just an enlarged version of the phone’s interface. The first WhatsApp version compatible with Android tablets came out for beta testers last year. However, it didn’t support split view. You can see what it all looks like in the screenshot above.
Unsurprisingly, you can still find the chat list on the left side, so you can quickly switch between different chats. In addition, the split view is also available for the Calls and Status tabs. As expected, it is very similar to the web interface.
