Many Android manufacturers offer dual messengers or parallel apps, so you can create a second instance of an app and use two accounts on one device. This is especially handy with WhatsApp, as the service doesn’t yet offer support for multiple accounts. However, the platform seems to be working on just such a feature in the background.

After releasing Companion Mode, which allows one to use an existing account on different devices, WhatsApp is now developing a feature that allows access to multiple WhatsApp accounts from the same device. The feature was discovered in WhatsApp Business Beta update for Android with version number 2.23.13.5. The screenshot above shows the feature in action.
Thanks to the multi-account function, you can manage both your personal and work accounts on the same device. It should also make managing multiple accounts on different devices easier. Instead of having to install and configure WhatsApp on each device separately, you can access and switch between different accounts from a single app on your main device.
While the new feature was spotted in the Business app, there’s no evidence that it’s an exclusive tool for businesses. Therefore, all users should be able to access it in the future. The multi-account function is currently still under development. The next step is likely that it will be released to beta testers via a future update of the app.
