vivo X100s with a flat display and frame in the starting blocks

The vivo X100s is about to launch in China with a MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chipset and a flat 1.5K display.

The vivo X100 has been available in China since November. Apparently the company has been working hard on another model in the series since then. The vivo X100s is also expected to come to the Chinese market with a MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chipset, just like its predecessor vivo X90s. At least that’s what the generally very well-informed tipster Digital Chat Station reports on Weibo.

But DCS also dug up some other technical data. The vivo X100s is said to have a flat “1.5K” display with “ultra-narrow” edges. There is also a flat metal frame and a glass back. The phone will be launched in white, black, cyan and titanium colors. However, it is still unclear whether the last one is just the name of a color option or whether titanium will actually be used.

At this point, it’s not clear what sets the vivo X100s apart from the regular X100, other than the slightly different color options, flat screen, and flat bezel. We’ll keep our eyes open, but the X100 never came to market internationally. The upcoming X100s will likely face the same fate.
