vivo X Fold 2: teardown and benchmark tests

The day before yesterday was the debut of the vivo X Fold 2 in China and yesterday came the first teardown video showing the components of the new device. Chinese bloggers WekiHome shared a detailed disassembly video of the X Fold2 and also put the new foldable through some benchmark tests.

In addition to the benchmark tests, the almost 12-minute video also contains some camera examples of the latest vivo foldable. It’s always interesting to see the inner components of a foldable smartphone. In particular, of course, in relation to the questions of how the manufacturers have solved the special challenges. For example, in the video there is a detailed breakdown and explanation of the vivo X Fold 2’s new hinge mechanism. You can find it at the 7:30 min mark.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset also delivers strong performance in the benchmark tests and shows why it is currently the strongest Android processor. A large vapor chamber made of copper alloy helps to dissipate heat under sustained stress. In the charging tests, the vivo X Fold 2 takes 27 minutes to fully charge. The vivo cell phone achieves a top charging speed of 108 watts.

The video is in Chinese, but as usual, you can simply turn on YouTube’s automatic subtitles.
