The vivo X Fold+ is one of the most exciting models among the foldables presented so far. Now the company is working on a flip model. Tipster Digital Chat Station dug out the first details and various technical data on the new vivo X Flip. A Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset takes over the drive, just like in the X Fold+. There is also 12 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. According to the pictures so far, vivo also installs a large cover display and a dual camera setup.
According to DCS, the camera setup consists of a 50-megapixel main camera with a Sony IMX866 sensor and a 12-megapixel IMX663 ultra-wide. On the inside there will be an additional camera in a centered punchhole, the resolution is still unknown. As is usual with vivo flagships, the main cameras have the Zeiss branding.
Based on previous reports, the internal display will be FHD+ resolution. DCS has now added a diagonal of 6.8 inches and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Based on the figure, the aspect ratio will be slimmer than on the Moto Razr 2022 but not as strong as on the Galaxy Z Flip4. It could match the Oppo Find N2 Flip’s 6.8-inch display with 1080 x 2520 pixels (21:9).
vivo X Flip with 4,400 mAh battery
The vivo X Flip should have a fairly large 4,400mAh battery with support for 44W fast charging. That’s bigger and faster than most flips out there, with only the Find N2 Flip coming close at 4,300mAh and also 44W. There will also be a fingerprint sensor built into the side, probably located in the power button.
The vivo X Flip is expected to launch in China next month. Hopefully the announcement will include plans for a global launch as the range of flip foldables available internationally is still pretty sparse. Also, the vivo X Fold 2 is expected with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset.
