Vivo sells its smartphones with two different operating systems – OriginOS Ocean in China and Funtouch OS in the rest of the world. Today the company confirmed that the international devices will soon receive Funtouch OS 13 based on Android 13. The list of eligible phones includes over 50 devices from the vivo and iQOO brands. Key improvements include app pinning to prevent someone from viewing unauthorized content, improved control over iManager, and a new viewfinder stabilization ring when taking photos.

FunTouch OS 13 introduces new ways to customize home screen graphics, including icons to match the background and system. The settings menu can now also be displayed in one color thanks to the monochrome icon function. The app pin feature is just one of several new security features. For example, you can use the three-point menu in the gallery to hide any photos.

Funtouch OS 13 also helps with app management. You can see the usage time of apps and the CPU utilization via the iManager. One tap closes applications that are heavily CPU-consuming. The iManager can also close active apps and adjust the CPU frequency based on the phone’s thermal management.

When editing videos, you can now mute the sound while changing individual scenes. In addition, the volume of individual sections can be controlled separately. With the update, photo editing also works in the viewfinder. A simple horizontal swipe selects the vibrancy, brightness, contrast or exposure.
