Twitter used to be a social media platform where you had a maximum of 140 characters to express yourself. Later, the limit increased to 280 characters, then the platform brought threads, and now Twitter Blue subscribers get 4,000 characters per tweet. What that means for the original idea of and fascination with Twitter remains to be seen.
Meanwhile, the paid Blue subscription has been quietly rolled out to more markets. In Europe, the new countries to upgrade to Twitter Blue are France, Germany, Italy, Portugal and Spain. Saudi Arabia, India and Indonesia have been unlocked in Asia and Brazil in Latin America. The prices for iOS and Android are the same, while users of the web platform get it a little cheaper:
|Saudi Arabia||SAR 42||SAR 42||SAR 30||SAR 315|
|France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain||€11||€11||€8||€84|
|Indien||INR 900||INR 900||INR 650||INR 6.800|
|Indonesien||IDR 165.000||IDR 165.000||IDR 120.000||IDR 1.25 million|
|Brasilien||BRL 60||BRL 60||BRL 42||BRL 440|
Twitter Blue users can access premium features like the ability to edit tweets. There are custom app icons, as well as better navigation of tweets and folders. A reader function makes threads easier to read.
