The Sony Xperia 5 IV launched on September 1st last year. So a year will soon have passed and the launch of the successor Sony Xperia 5 V should be just around the corner. Especially since it’s the only model still missing for this year – both the Xperia 1 V and the Xperia 10 V are already out. Today, a Reddit user named JB2unique shared an official-looking promotional video for the next Xperia.
The video shows the updated design of the Sony Xperia 5 V and the new dual camera setup on the back. This most likely means that Sony will install a main camera with a wide-angle lens and an ultra-wide camera. The Japanese, on the other hand, probably do without a telephoto lens, although all four predecessors of the Xperia 5 series had one on board.

The front of the Xperia 5 V looks almost identical to that of the Xperia 1 IV. The video also confirms that Sony’s upcoming upper mid-range will still retain a 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone will be launched in at least three colors, which you can see at the end of the video – black, white and blue.
The only known technical data of the Xperia 5 V so far comes from a Geekbench test, which the Sony phone completed with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and a whopping 16 GB of RAM. In addition, there was already confirmation that the 5 V cable charges with 33 watts.
