The Sony Xperia 1 VI may have ditched its 21:9 display, but the Sony Xperia 10 VI still offers an alternative.

The Xperia 1 VI may have ditched its 21:9 display, but the Sony Xperia 10 VI continues the trend of tall and slim Sony smartphones. Sony’s latest midranger brings some important changes compared to its predecessor. This includes a more powerful Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset and 8GB of RAM. The dedicated telephoto camera, on the other hand, fell victim to the red pen.

The Sony Xperia 10 VI features a 6.1-inch OLED display with an FHD+ resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate. You still get Gorilla Glass Victus protection on the front and an 8-megapixel front camera. Sony claims the speakers are now louder and offer better clarity.

The Sony Xperia 10 VI relies on a plastic frame and a back made from 50% recycled materials. The dedicated 2x telephoto camera of its predecessor, the Xperia 10 V, is no longer present, but the 48 megapixel main camera with OIS should make up for the loss. It offers a 2x in-sensor zoom and covers a focal length range of up to 52 mm. It also collects more light than the previous telephoto camera. You also get 4K video recording at up to 30 frames per second. The other camera on the back is a 16mm ultrawide camera with a resolution of 8 megapixels.

The Xperia 10 VI launches with Android 14 and receives three major Android version updates and four years of security updates. The 5,000 mAh battery has a charging capacity of 30 watts. The device is IP68 certified and, in addition to a headphone jack, also offers a microSD card slot.

The Sony Xperia 10 VI is available in three colors: black, white and blue. There’s only an 8/128GB version, which Sony will be selling from mid-June for €399/£349.
