Sony Xperia 10 V: Renderings show familiar design

Sony’s current top mid-range offering, the Xperia 10 IV, was unveiled last May and launched in June. Therefore, one can assume that the successor Sony Xperia 10 V will take its place at some point in the next few months. A set of high-quality, CAD-based renders of the upcoming model have surfaced today from a normally reliable source.

If you expected a fresh new design compared to the 2022 model, you might be a little disappointed. The Sony Xperia 10 V shown in the pictures shows exactly the same design as the Xperia 10 IV. This applies to the button placement, the size and shape of the camera module and the position of the LED flash.

The dimensions are also extremely similar, if not completely identical. The Xperia 10 V measures 153.3 x 68.4 x 8.5 mm, while the Xperia 10 IV has a size of 153 x 67 x 8.3 mm. Accordingly, the successor has grown a little all around. The 2023 model also retains the top and bottom bezels that Sony smartphones in this price range have carried around since 2015. You will look in vain for a waterdrop notch or a punch hole – the front camera lives further in the upper frame.

The big innovation for the Xperia 10 V will reportedly be stereo speakers, which would be a first for the 10 series. The display is rumored to be “about 6.1 inches diagonally”. That would be marginally larger than the Xperia 10 IV’s 6-inch panel, which could be the reason for the larger dimensions.
