Sony Xperia 1 VI: Same cameras as Xperia 1 V?

Apparently the Sony Xperia 1 VI will get new display specifications, but will remain with the camera setup of the Xperia 1 V.
Sony Xperia 1 V vs Xperia 1 VI

According to rumors, the Sony Xperia 1 VI will have a different display aspect ratio and forgo the long-standing 21:9. The new model is likely to be a little less tall and a little wider. And apparently the company may even forego the 4K resolution, which no other smartphone manufacturer has adopted in all these years.

These are certainly exciting changes. But you can usually rely on two things with new generations of smartphones: a new chipset and a new camera setup. A new leak now at least rejects updated camera hardware. According to rumors on Weibo, the Sony Xperia 1 VI will ship with exactly the same rear cameras as the Xperia 1 V.

That would mean a 24mm 48MP main camera with f/1.9 aperture and a 1/1.35-inch sensor. There’s also a 16mm 12MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle lens with a 1/2.5-inch sensor and an 85mm 12MP f/2.3 telephoto lens with a 1/3. 5 inch sensor and continuous zoom installed. Of course, that doesn’t mean that there won’t be any software improvements. And these can have a big impact on the image and video quality of the Xperia 1 VI.

Of course, this only applies if this Weibo rumor actually comes true. As the release of the Xperia 1 VI gets closer, more rumors and leaks are likely to emerge that either confirm or refute this. As usual these days, there are already rumors about AI functions, including a new car mode.
