Sony has just started distributing the Android 14 update for the Xperia 1 V. The firmware brings the improved bokeh mode from the Xperia 5 V as well as the new Video Creator app. Sony originally announced the Video Creator app as part of Android 14. But it actually came to the App Store under Android 13 as a downloadable app for the Xperia 1 V.
Bokeh mode, on the other hand, is Sony’s portrait mode. The Xperia 5 V creates impressive portraits. So it’s good news that Sony is finally bringing it to the Xperia 1 V.
The Video Creator app is also a helpful app and is also already available on the Xperia 5 V. It allows you to automatically create videos including matching music. You simply select one or more source files and the app does the rest – similar to Google Photos’ new highlight video. If you want to dive deeper into the subject, you can use complex control and power user tools in Sony’s Video Creator app.
It may take a few days for the update to reach all users worldwide. The Xperia 5 V should be next in line for Google’s latest operating system. But so far there is no information about this.
