Sony is rolling out three new Android 13 updates

Sony has released the stable Android 13 update for three new smartphones – the Xperia 1 III, Xperia 5 III and the Xperia Pro-I. The Xperia 1 III and 5 III were launched with Android 11 last April and received the Android 12 update earlier this year. Unveiled last October, the Xperia Pro-I also launched with Android 11.

With Android 13, you can customize the color design of the app icons on the home screen on Sony smartphones, among other things. There is now a shortcut to the QR code scanner in Quick Settings. You can also stop active apps that you no longer need. In addition, Android 13 brings support for different language settings depending on the app. And via Bluetooth LE Audio you can share your sound with several friends at the same time or use the new live streaming function in the External Monitor app.

Sony hasn’t announced which countries will get the Android 13 update first. We are betting on a period of one to two weeks until the new firmware is also available in the US. If you don’t want to wait any longer, you can also search for the new software manually at any time. Simply start the manual search in settings > software update.
