Today, parent company HMD announced the Nokia G22 with 4G technology and a focus on repairability and sustainability. HMD also introduced the affordable Nokia C22 and C32. In order to be able to use the G22 for as long as possible, HMD concentrated on the fact that buyers can replace frequently failing parts such as broken displays or worn-out batteries as easily as possible themselves.

Accordingly, changing the battery in the Nokia G22 only takes about 5 minutes and the scope of delivery already includes all the necessary tools. These include a SIM tool, a pick and a screwdriver. Changing the display takes about 20 minutes with a few extra tools. HMD has partnered with iFixit to provide the right tools, guides and parts. In addition to the battery and the display, there are also interchangeable charging connectors, for example.
Additionally, Nokia has also drastically reduced the steps required to repair the G22. There is no need to heat the back cover to remove it, nor use alcohol to remove the battery. The back is made from 100% recycled plastic while the packaging uses fully certified FSC mix material.
Nokia G22 with 6.52 inch display and 50 MP camera
As for the actual specs, the Nokia G22 has a 6.52-inch HD+ display with 90Hz and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The front 8 megapixel camera unlocks the phone even when wearing a mask. Alternatively, there is a fingerprint sensor on the side.

A Unisoc T606 chipset with 4GB of RAM and either 64 or 128GB of storage takes over the drive. The operating system is Android 12, but HMD promises two major operating system updates and 3 years of security updates. Therefore, the Nokia smartphone should still experience Android 14.
On the back is a triple camera system with a 50-megapixel main camera, a 2-megapixel macro camera, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The battery has a capacity of 5,050 mAh and charges with up to 20 watts via cable.
The Nokia G22 is available today in blue and gray from €179 / $189. As a launch offer, when you buy the G22, you get a 50% discount on the Nokia Comfort Earbuds earphones.
