Samsung reveals Galaxy Z Flip5 price, new Galaxy Z Fold5 images

A promotion is currently running at Samsung Romania. Ten Galaxy Z Flip5 phones will be given away to people who pre-register between July 26th and August 2nd. Of course, Samsung released a PDF with the terms and conditions for this promotion, which also happens to include the price of the gifts. According to this document, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 with 256GB costs RON 6,599, which is the equivalent of €1,335 / $1,501. For comparison, the 256GB Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 was RON 5,700 when it launched last year. This corresponds to a price increase of 16%.

There have already been some leaks about the Galaxy Z Flip5. Among others from Greece, where the price for the 128 GB model is said to be around 1,300 euros. Another tip from France assumed 1,200 euros for the 256 GB model. That would also be an increase, but only of €30 compared to last year’s €1,170 Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 256GB.

However, it should be noted that different VAT rates apply in different EU countries. 19% are in Romania, 24% in Greece and 20% in France. Even so, pre-tax prices vary widely – €1,120 in Romania, €1,000 in France (each with 256 GB) and €1,050 (128 GB) in Greece. A difference of €70 (before VAT) between the 128 and 256 GB models sounds plausible. The French price, on the other hand, remains suspiciously low.

New Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 pictures

Samsung’s big unpacked event is just around the corner and in addition to the Galaxy Z Flip5, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 is now appearing in the rumor mill almost every day. The latest addition to the leaks are multiple shots of Z Fold5 dummies. Thus, the Samsung cell phones in the pictures are only dummies. Nevertheless, they already give a good impression of the design of the Z Fold5.

As you can see, the design of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 hasn’t changed much compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold4. The only obvious difference is the location of the LED flash next to the main cameras. According to previous rumors, Samsung will install a new waterdrop hinge on the Z Fold5. Samsung wants to minimize the gap in the middle of the display with this. It is still unclear whether the upcoming fold will be waterproof. However, today’s images show a fairly noticeable crease in the main display, just like previous devices in the Fold series.
