The Samsung Galaxy A23 5G launched in the US and Europe earlier this year. Today, Samsung released a new version for the Japanese market that offers a smaller display and a MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset. Also, the Japanese A23 5G is IP68 waterproof.
The Galaxy A23 5G for the Far East has a 5.8-inch TFT-LCD display with HD+ resolution and a waterdrop notch for a 5-megapixel selfie camera. There is a single 50-megapixel main cam on the back, while a fingerprint sensor is housed in the power button on the side.
The A23 5G is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. In addition, a microSD slot for memory expansion is installed. The operating system used is Android 12 with Samsung’s One UI 4.1 interface. The battery has a capacity of 4,000 mAh and charges with 15 watts. A headphone jack, NFC and a nano-SIM slot are also on board.
The Japan-exclusive Samsung Galaxy A23 5G is available in black, red and white colors and retails for 32,800 JPY ($231).
