Samsung introduces Flex Hybrid OLED displays

Samsung Display has announced a new product called the Flex Hybrid OLED display. This is a panel for smartphones, tablets and notebooks that can be folded and moved. You can open the panel from one side and also roll it out.

This gives you a 10.5 inch display with an aspect ratio of 4:3 or a 12.4 inch panel with an aspect ratio of 16:10 in a normal smartphone. Samsung will unveil the new product, along with two sliding panels, at CES 2023 in Las Vegas, which begins later this week.

The Flex Slidable Solo and Flex Slidable Duet projects can be pulled from one or both sides. This allows you to expand a 14-inch OLED display to a 17.3-inch screen. All panels are touch-sensitive and will accompany the transformation from classic bar phones to flexible devices. This journey started years ago with models like the Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Fold. However, it is very unlikely that these panels will reach the consumer market in the short term.

Samsung will also present the new QD OLED panels for tvs and monitors at CES 2023. Models in 77, 65, 55 and 34 inches as well as a new 49-inch ultra-wide version will also be part of the party.
