A Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 Slim or Ultra is reportedly also being developed, but will apparently only start with the Galaxy S25 series.

We are less than two months away from the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6 launch event. Another interesting leak was added today. Samsung will apparently also bring a Z Fold6 Slim or Z Fold6 Ultra in addition to the base model. Samsung has apparently still not decided on a final model name.

According to Ross Young on X, Samsung plans to launch a slimmer Galaxy Z Fold6 variant alongside the Galaxy S25 series in early 2025. As the name suggests, the foldable will be thinner than the original. At the same time, it should have a larger display, which would make up for the lack of space for components. However, Samsung also reportedly achieved the thinner design by omitting the digitizer used for pen input. Conversely, this means that the Samsung smartphone will not support the S Pen.

The first foldable displays used for the future Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 Slim/Ultra will be produced by Samsung’s display division in the fourth quarter of this year. If everything goes according to plan, the phone should be available in the first quarter of 2025. The estimated price should be similar to the normal Z Fold6.

It looks like Samsung is quickly expanding its foldable portfolio to maintain its edge over the competition. The larger selection of foldables is also intended to revitalize the stagnating cell phone market through a larger target group. The rumored Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 FE and Galaxy Z Flip6 FE smartphones are also in the works and are aimed at a cheaper market niche. Or not, the rumor mill changes its mind on this matter practically every day.
