The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 may not have been released until the beginning of the month. But we’re already getting the first leaks on its successor. Popular tipster Ice Universe shared a short video and a couple of pictures of a prototype Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6. Compared to the current foldable flagship, a major redesign can be seen. Many Samsung fans were already hoping for this with the Fold5.
According to Ice Universe, the source of the leak is part of the Samsung supply chain. With the tip, she confirms a rendered image of the Galaxy S24 Ultra, which only appeared on the Internet last Friday. Both the middle frame and the sides curved from below correspond to the design concept of the S24 Ultra on the rendering (last picture above). Launching in February, the Ultra would already set the design direction for the Galaxy Z Fold6. The latter will launch in August.

That being said, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 prototype has a flat cover display. This also aligns with the current rumors about the Galaxy S24 Ultra. However, the frame around the panel could be narrower than shown in the video.
In addition, rumors persist that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 will finally get an S Pen slot, just like the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and Galaxy S22 Ultra. Samsung is also said to be planning a Z Fold6 FE and a Z Flip6 FE. The cheaper Fan Edition models could have slightly less power and features.
