Samsung will officially launch the Galaxy Z Fold5 along with the Galaxy Z Flip5 in the last week of July at an Unpacked event in Seoul, Korea. There have already been various leaks about the new foldable. But today, for the first time, an image has surfaced that will clearly be part of the Samsung smartphone’s marketing campaign. Another first is the new blue color option, but as usual there will be other colors as well. The picture also shows the S Pen, which, like its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold4, will likely be sold separately.

Additionally, the placements of the USB-C port, speaker grilles, and microphones are very similar to the last generation. The camera setup on the back with three lenses in a row is also already known from the Galaxy Z Fold4. And the technical data of the cameras should also remain largely identical. Accordingly, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 will receive rather minor updates this year. This includes, for example, the narrower frame around the main display.

In addition, the Galaxy Z Fold5 will come with a seamless hinge. The picture shows no gap between the two halves when it is closed. Samsung achieves this with a new hinge in a water drop design. Despite the new mechanism, the foldable should not only remain waterproof, but also be protected against dust for the first time. As with the Galaxy S23 series, it is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy chipset from Qualcomm.
