The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5, launched last month, is equipped with the same 12-megapixel main camera that the Korean company installed in its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Flip4, last year. However, according to Dutch website GalaxyClub, the Galaxy Z Flip6 could finally get the much-anticipated camera upgrade next year.

According to the report, Samsung has already started testing the first Galaxy Z Flip6 prototypes with a 50-megapixel main camera. The whole thing would be quite a quantum leap in terms of image quality, since the current 12 megapixel wide-angle camera of the Galaxy Z Flip5 has been carried over from the Z Flip4 practically unchanged.
Unfortunately, the source did not provide any further technical data on this 50 megapixel sensor. No new information came to light about the other cameras of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 either. At least the report revealed that the Galaxy Z Flip6 is codenamed B6, while the Galaxy Z Fold6 is codenamed Q6.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 and Galaxy Z Fold6 are about a year away from launch. So it’s best to take these early rumors with a pinch of salt for now. However, the next leaks and reports are likely to come soon and include other sources.
