The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 is about to be officially unveiled in the last week of July at a special event in Korea. Accordingly, the Samsung foldable is now appearing in the news almost every day. Today, an essential piece of the puzzle is added – the price. The information comes from Greece and is not necessarily good news. If the numbers are correct, the new Flip will rise to 1,299 euros (1,420 us-dollars) for the entry-level model with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.

For comparison, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 with 8/128 GB in the euro zone initially cost 1,099 euros. Thus, a price increase of almost 20% is possible. Of course, prices within Europe may vary slightly due to different VAT rates. However, this should only result in differences of 30-40 euros.

But the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 will have at least a few significant upgrades. On the one hand, this includes the large new external display. The panel should not only grow to 3.4 inches but also have significantly more functions. Google apps like GMail and Maps should be fully functional without having to open the Flip5. In addition, thanks to a new hinge, there should no longer be a visible crease in the main display. Instead, the Flip is said to be dustproof and waterproof according to IP58 for the first time. And as usual, this year there will also be an upgrade to the currently fastest processor – the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 from Qualcomm.

As usual, you should take this information with a pinch of salt for now, as it’s only been unconfirmed rumors so far. In the coming weeks, however, it is very likely that further price leaks for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 will follow.
