The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 has been a resident on the rumor mill for the past few months. But thanks to a new rendering, we now get a first look at the potential new cover display of the clamshell phone. Popular tipster Ice Universe has shared a new image of the Galaxy Z Flip5, which shows a design with a folder-shaped outer display.

Previous rumors have suggested that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5’s outer display will measure around 3.3 to 3.4 inches. This would make it significantly larger than the 1.9-inch panel in the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4. The folder-shaped cutout below that wraps around the dual cameras is interesting. The tipster claims that these images already hint at the final design. Accordingly, Samsung is currently working on adapting its One UI interface to the larger screen area. The right picture, on the other hand, comes from another leak from early April. Remarkably, a slight bulge can already be seen around the cameras.
According to a new rumor from unnamed, unspecified sources, Samsung’s next big Unpacked launch event will take place in the last week of July. That’s sooner than you’d normally expect, as traditionally the new Samsung foldables aren’t actually unveiled until August. In addition to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 and the Galaxy Z Fold5, the Galaxy Tab S9 series should also hit the stage.
