Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 case confirms new cover display

According to the latest rumors, the cover display of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 will measure 3.4 inches at a resolution of 720 x 748 pixels.

The new foldables from Samsung are well on the way to being ready for the market. If current rumors are to be believed, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Fold5 are likely to launch sometime in July along with the Galaxy Watch6 and Galaxy Tab S9 series. And in the case of the Z Flip5, the focus will definitely be on the new, larger cover display.

Various rumors and renderings of the upcoming clamshell phone have already shown the folder-shaped cover display. Now there are also several photos of the matching plastic protective cover. In terms of size and display, the case fits exactly to the previous pictures. According to the latest rumors, the cover display of the Flip5 will measure 3.4 inches diagonally. The resolution should reach 720 x 748 pixels. In addition to a large clock, this leaves plenty of space for shortcuts and widgets, which will make the new display much more functional than the 1.9-inch panel of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4.

Not too much is known about the rest of the hardware of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5. In any case, a new hinge design will significantly reduce the gap between the two halves when closed. It will probably be powered by what is currently the fastest mobile platform, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 from Qualcomm. There’s also 128, 256, or 512GB of storage, with the 128GB model using a UFS 3.1 chip instead of UFS 4.0.

These statements are consistent with the current Galaxy Z Flip4 storage options. In addition, like its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 should have two 12-megapixel cameras for the wide and ultra-wide range. However, Samsung could upgrade both cameras with new sensors. The charging power should remain at the known 25 watts.
