Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Watch6 / Watch6 Classic, Z Fold5, Z Flip5, and Galaxy Tab S9 series at a major unpacked event today. The Watch6 Classic brings back the rotating bezel after a year’s absence. The Samsung smartwatches are each available in two sizes, and all variants also have LTE with an eSIM module as an option.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch6 brings a number of improvements compared to the Galaxy Watch5. The new wearable is slightly smaller than its predecessor and is available in 40 and 44mm dimensions. Thanks to a thinner frame, the displays are slightly larger at 1.3 and 1.5 inches. The displays of the Watch6 Classic are identical, but the sizes increase to 43 and 47 mm due to the rotating bezel. All Galaxy Watch6 models feature Super AMOLED panels with always-on displays and sapphire crystal protection.

The drive is taken over by the new Exynos W930 chipsets. They are still dual-core CPUs, but the peak clock speed has increased by 18% to 1.4 GHz. RAM is also slightly larger at 2GB (up from 1.5GB), while internal storage is 16GB.

The biggest improvement is actually on the software side. Thanks to the skin temperature sensors and heart rate monitor, the smartwatches allow for more accurate sleep tracking. There are also ECG and blood pressure sensors as well as menstrual cycle predictions and integrated fall detection.
The Galaxy Watch6 also supports Samsung Wallet and can be used as a remote shutter release for the camera or to locate the owner’s phone with a built-in map. Thanks to the Wear OS operating system, you can install both Google and third-party apps.
The Watch6 and Watch6 Classic have 425mAh batteries on the 44 and 47mm models and 300mAh on the 40 and 43mm versions. All variants are IP68 certified, waterproof up to 50 meters and MIL-STD-810H certified.
