Samsung today released a “World Cup Update” for the Galaxy Watch5 and Watch5 Pro. Among other things, a new security patch and a football watch face are on board. The software update for the Samsung smartwatch is over 500 MB and has the firmware version R9xxXXU1AVK7. Aside from the November security patch, it also includes a few other improvements.
There are also updates in terms of stability and reliability. Samsung has also worked on notifications and “device behavior”. What exactly the Koreans mean by that remains their secret. The new World Cup watch face essentially consists of a stylized soccer ball. You can choose the right colors yourself. The flags of the participating countries and a OneLove watchface are available.
The new update is now available for all Bluetooth models of the Galaxy Watch5 and Watch5 Pro. Sooner or later the automatic notification will come, but you can also download the update manually via the Galaxy Wearable app. To do this, go to the Watch5 / Pro tab > Settings > Software Update.
Those who have the Watch 5 / Pro version with 4G connectivity will have to be patient. There is currently no information for the 4G firmware, but it should only be a matter of days before the OTA download arrives.
