The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Watch FE has been revealed online today. In addition to fairly official-looking images, fairly complete technical specifications have also come to light. According to them, the 40mm version will have a 1.2-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 396 x 396 pixels. The 247 mAh battery supports wireless charging, and there is also 1.5 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage. In addition to being water-resistant to 50 meters, the aluminum case also supports IP68 and MIL-STD-810H standards.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch FE is powered by the company’s own Exynos W920 chipset along with Google’s Wear OS and Samsung’s One UI Watch 5.0. This is notable because the Korean company just announced version 6.0 of its wearable interface. It seems that the Watch FE will have to wait a little longer for that.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch FE will offer an accelerometer, a barometer, bioelectrical impedance analysis, a gyroscope, a geomagnetic sensor, a brightness sensor and an optical heart rate monitor. In addition, of course, there is WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n at 2.4 and 5 GHz, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, GPS, a microphone, a speaker and a vibration motor on board.

Rumor has it that the Galaxy Watch FE will be a re-edition of the Galaxy Watch4 from 2021. The specifications from today’s leak largely confirm this theory. It will clearly be positioned as an entry-level wearable among Samsung smartwatches, but the price is currently still a mystery.

The Watch FE is expected to be officially launched on July 10 at Samsung’s next Unpacked event. We’ll also see the arrival of the Galaxy Watch7 series, Galaxy Watch Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold6, and Galaxy Z Flip6.
