Samsung quietly uploaded two new entry-level tablets to its websites three weeks ago. But now the company has officially started the global rollout after the limited release in India. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 and the Galaxy Tab A9+ with lightweight casings, a puristic design and attractive prices are here.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 is based on an 8.7-inch LCD display, while the Galaxy Tab A9+ increases the diagonal to 11 inches. They are significantly lighter than the more expensive models Galaxy Tab S9 and Tab S9+ as well as Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Tab S9 FE+, but also have smaller batteries.

Instead, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 has to make do with a 5,100 mAh cell, while the Plus model has a 7,040 mAh battery. Both only charge their batteries with 15 watts, but charging speeds have never been Samsung’s strength. In addition, the appropriate charger is not included and must be purchased separately.

Both Samsung tablets have two connectivity options – Wi-Fi only or cellular included. If you choose the cellular version, you get LTE with the normal Tab A9. The Plus model has the faster 5G standard. That would fit with reports of Helio G99 and Snapdragon 695 chipsets. Samsung itself has not yet provided any official information about which processors power the two tablets.

Samsung offers the Galaxy Tab A9 and Tab A9+ in three colors – graphite, silver and navy blue. The exact prices will be announced for each market individually.
