The Samsung Galaxy S23 series is expected to be unveiled at its own event on February 1st. And although Samsung has not even officially confirmed this date, there is already a new rumor about the Galaxy S24 Ultra today. The successor to the Galaxy S23 Ultra comes in early 2024.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra renders
According to well-known tipster Ice Universe, the Galaxy S24 Ultra will get a new telephoto camera sensor. This includes to “adopt a new solution”. Ice Universe does not mention which telesensor it is. But you can assume that it is a periscope telephoto lens. On the other hand, it could also be the 3x telephoto, which Samsung built into the Galaxy S22 Ultra alongside the 10x periscope.
The main camera of the S24 Ultra should remain identical to the S23 Ultra or only change slightly. The zoom hardware when switching from the S22 Ultra to the S23 Ultra, on the other hand, could remain the same. Samsung still wants to improve the image quality thanks to better processing and AI algorithms. The information comes from the same source.
In this respect, the S23 Ultra could bring a revised image quality, while the Galaxy S24 Ultra takes a real step forward with new technology. The main camera should get major improvements in 2023 with a new 200 megapixel sensor. The chip would then continue to be used in 2024 in an identical or slightly modified form.
Of course, we should take a relaxed look at all these rumors, as we are currently still a long way from the release of the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
