Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra could get a flat display

The previous leaks for the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra are largely in line with expectations. There will be camera upgrades, some minor design changes, a new 10-core chipset and faster charging. The latest report on the subject now goes in a completely different direction. According to reliable tipster Ice Universe, the upcoming Galaxy S24 Ultra will feature a flat rather than curved display.

Samsung was the first company to introduce a curved glass design in 2014 with the release of the Galaxy Note Edge. Later, the Koreans switched the entire Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S9 series to curved glass. The lower models of the flagship series now have flat displays again, such as the current Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+. According to the tip, the Galaxy S24 Ultra could now follow the smaller models in terms of design.

According to Ice Universe, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra will be 79mm wide, which can only be explained by the move to a flat screen. The Galaxy S23 Ultra is 78.1mm wide thanks to its curved edges, and it’s extremely unlikely that the edges will actually grow on the new model.

So far, however, these are just rumours. Samsung could still just go for a larger curved display, which would also explain the differences.
