New day, new leak on the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. The tip comes from well-known Twitter tipster Ice Universe on Twitter/X and suggests that the upcoming Ultra will get an overhauled 200-megapixel main camera. The 200 megapixel ISOCELL HP25X will probably be used as the sensor, an improved version of the current ISOCELL HP2 in the Galaxy S23 Ultra.

The new sensor maintains the current sensor’s size of 1/1.3 inch. Advanced Super Quad Phase Detection Autofocus is also on the list of specs, as is native 4-in-1 and 16-in-1 pixel binning. Accordingly, in addition to the full 200 megapixel resolution, 50 and 12 megapixel photos are also available.
Interestingly, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is also expected to bring a new 3x telephoto camera. Rumor has it that it will be a 50 megapixel sensor with a size of 1/2.52 inch and 0.7 µm pixels. That would be a big jump in sensor size compared to the 1/3.24-inch chip in the S23 Ultra’s current 10-megapixel 3x telephoto camera. It should improve image quality significantly.
Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra only with Snapdragon chips?
In addition to the cameras, the chipset is still a big topic in the rumor mill. Samsung should be using its new Exynos 2400 processor for the Galaxy S24 series in Europe. A new rumor now goes in a slightly different direction. According to this, only the Galaxy S24 and the S24+ will use the chip developed by Samsung. The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, on the other hand, will use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy in all markets, according to a new tip. This would give an even clearer separation between the Ultra and the rest of Samsung smartphones.
The Samsung Exynos 2400 will bring a 10-core CPU architecture with a Cortex-X4 main core. There are also two Cortex-A720 clusters and four A520 efficiency cores. An Xclipse 940 takes over the GPU, which Samsung developed together with AMD. Supposedly it is still based on RDNA 2 technology, although RDNA 3 is already available. However, the GPU will have twice as many compute units as the Exynos 2200’s Xclipse 920 in the Galaxy S22 Ultra. There will also be RAM and storage upgrades, a new image processor, a new modem and a very bright display.
