There were hopes that Samsung would finally introduce 65 watt fast charging with its upcoming flagship Galaxy S24 Ultra. A new series of certifications from the Chinese 3C authority now confirms that nothing will come of this for the time being. Accordingly, the Galaxy S24 series retains the charging speeds of its predecessors. This means a maximum of 25 watts for the Galaxy S24 (SM-S9210), just like the Galaxy S23 before.
As you can see above, in addition to the 3C, well-known tipster Ice Universe has also confirmed the charging speeds. As proof, he cited another certification from the China Quality Certification Center. There you can find the charging speeds of the Samsung Galaxy S24+ (SM-S9260) and the Galaxy S24 Ultra (SM-S9280), which also remain at their previous speeds of 45 watts. So nothing changes here compared to the Galaxy S23+ and S23 Ultra.
The new 3C entries also confirm that Samsung will continue to offer its flagship phones without chargers included. It remains to be seen whether Samsung will opt for stacked batteries for the Galaxy S24+ and S24 Ultra, as was suspected at the beginning of the year. In any case, both Samsung phones are expected to launch with 5,000 mAh batteries. The base model may also get a small upgrade in battery capacity. There will also be updates to the unibody, cameras and chipsets.
