Shortly before launch on February 1st, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra has appeared in the wild under mysterious circumstances. This time, a model has landed in the hands of someone named Edwards Urbina, who unwrapped it right in his native Nicaragua. He also took screenshots of the specifications and shot a few test images. The unboxing shows a sales package without any accessories apart from a SIM tool. The Samsung smartphone in the video is the cream version and looks pretty real and official.
We also have a few test images from the new 200 megapixel main camera and the well-known 10x telephoto camera. As far as the main camera is concerned, the revised night mode of the Galaxy S23 Ultra is particularly interesting. But the video camera will also receive a major upgrade.

Night mode: Google Pixel 7 Pro vs. Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra
The sample images aren’t full resolution and it’s not a question of judging their quality, but the low-light capabilities of the 200-megapixel sensor. The amount of light it gathers is pretty good, to say the least.

There are also some zoom images in Mr Urbina’s feed, also compared to the Google Pixel 7 Pro. For one thing, the photos are brighter, which is often a problem with long focal lengths and large zoom levels as the apertures get smaller. On the other hand, there are significantly more details to see on the S23 Ultra photos. Samsung had already indicated that nothing will change on the hardware side of the 10x telephoto camera, but that they are working on the software. On the pictures you could see a first result of this new image processing.
Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra: specifications
Previous leaks and rumors have also brought a new chipset into play for the Galaxy S23 Ultra. The screenshots of the specifications now confirm these rumors again. As usual, the currently fastest mobile processor is on board – the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Several leaks had already brought a higher clock frequency of the Cortex X3 prime core of 3.36 GHz into play, which is also confirmed. There is also 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM.

The S Pen still has a place in the case and the display still measures 6.8 inches. This time, however, the panel is guarded by the new Gorilla Glass Victus 2. Even satellite communication in the S23 series has already been a topic in the rumor mill. Color options include Phantom Black, Cotton Flower, Botanic Green, and Misty Lilac.
