For about a year, rumors have been circulating that Samsung is preparing a new smart wearable – a ring that might be called the Galaxy Ring. It’s a fairly untapped market for smart wearables in an otherwise already largely crowded segment.

According to The Elec, Samsung has already completed the development process and is expected to start production next month. According to reports, the Korean tech giant has already secured procurement of the necessary hardware. All that remains to be decided in Korea is when to start mass production of the Samsung Galaxy Ring.
Although the launch is imminent, the release will probably not take place until 2024. Aside from the standard regulatory processes, the Galaxy Ring must go through various certification processes to achieve “medical device” status. The Galaxy Watch5 and Galaxy Watch6 series have had to deal with exactly the same problems. As a result of the certification, the Samsung smartwatches can now measure not only ECGs, but also irregular heart rhythms.
These certifications can take several months, so the Samsung Galaxy Ring is unlikely to launch until 2024. Thus, a start together with the Galaxy S24 series would be conceivable, which will be presented in February 2024 according to Samsung’s usual pattern.
