According to previous rumors, the Samsung Galaxy Ring should officially come onto the market in January 2024 with the Galaxy S24 series. Now, according to the Korean website The Elec, there is a new date. It is expected that this will not happen until the third quarter of 2024 or the first quarter of 2025.

According to The Elec, the design of the Galaxy Ring is not yet final. This is because the ring in its current phase supports multiple functions, which means that the dimensions have grown too much. Samsung is therefore expected to reduce the size of the wearable while keeping as many features on board as possible.

However, the new Samsung wearable will not only be sold in one size. The Korean company is currently working on four sizes, according to the report. Several companies are involved in the development of the new product for Samsung, including Doosung Tech and Korea Seongjeon.

The source expects Samsung to unveil the Galaxy Ring in the third quarter of 2024 alongside the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6. However, this plan will only work if Samsung does not apply for a medical device certification for the Galaxy Ring. Such certification is required, among other things, if devices are to measure ECGs (electrocardiograms). But it could take months, so the launch could be delayed until the first quarter of 2025.

Additionally, according to the report, Samsung is also considering a Galaxy Ring that works with Extended Reality (XR) and Mixed Reality (MR) devices. This way you could easily and conveniently track hand movements without a controller.
