Samsung Galaxy Ring comes with Samsung Food integration

The Samsung Galaxy Ring is said to have a killer feature: Smart meal planning for optimal nutrition and diet suggestions.
Samsung Galaxy Ring

Samsung previewed the Galaxy Ring at MWC 2024, but revealed little about what exactly it will be able to do. Today we’ll learn about one of its killer features – meal planning. According to Korean sources, Samsung Mobile eXperience Division (MX) and Home Appliance Division are working together to link Samsung Food to the Galaxy Ring. This means that Samsung wants to use the smart ring to offer meals and diet suggestions.

The Samsung Galaxy Ring will monitor activities during the day. Samsung Food, connected to a Samsung smart fridge with AI vision, will then create diet suggestions based on calorie consumption and body mass index (BMI). In a completely connected home, in which the Samsung oven is also online, the right dish is cooked straight away at the optimal cooking temperature and time. The Samsung e-Food Center can supply the ingredients.

This all sounds nice in theory. The reality is that most of these products and services are currently only available in South Korea, and at hefty prices. But once the first company gets rolling, other companies are likely to quickly jump on the bandwagon of intelligent wearables.

Samsung Food is a platform currently available in 104 countries and regions. It is the successor to the app Whisk, which was the largest recipe-sharing social network before its acquisition in 2019. If the rumors are true, the app could suggest recipes and diet plans when the Samsung Galaxy Ring launches at the end of July.
