The Samsung Galaxy M55 was launched in India last month, although the question remains whether other markets will follow. The Galaxy M54, for example, never came to Europe, which is now changing with the successor – the M55 is sold worldwide. In fact, it is already available in Europe and South America. Samsung Portugal offers the new model with 8/128 GB for €500 and 8/256 GB for €550.

For comparison: The Samsung Galaxy A55 costs €500 with 8/128 GB. Of course, there are some noticeable differences between the M55 and the A55. The M55 is already available in Switzerland via the third-party Mobile Device for 392 CHF (128 GB version).

The 256GB version of the Samsung Galaxy M55 is available at Samsung Brazil for BRL 2,700 and at Samsung Peru for PEN 1,700. Samsung Chile sells the 8/128 GB model for 450,000 CLP. For comparison: the 256 GB Galaxy A55 costs 2,970 BRL or 1,900 PEN, the 128 GB model is 450,000 CPL. As such, there are regions of the world where the M55 may be a better deal than the A55. The A-series model is built to a higher quality and also has a better chipset. But the M55 still has a few aces up its sleeve.

The Galaxy M55, for example, is the only model below the Galaxy S series that supports 45 watt fast charging via cable. It also stands out for its 50 megapixel selfie camera. There is also another 50-megapixel 1/1.56-inch main camera and an 8-megapixel 123-degree ultra-wide-angle camera. It also features a 6.7-inch FHD+ 120Hz display on the front, although it is powered by the relatively old Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset. In contrast to the A55, there are no protection classes – neither for dust and water resistance, nor for the display glass.
