The Samsung Galaxy A34 and Galaxy A54 launched in India back in March. Now fans of the brand get a cheap alternative – the Samsung Galaxy M34 is here. Although it is significantly cheaper than the A34, you also get a lot of support with the M34. Samsung commits to 4 operating system updates and 5 years of security patches. Even the significantly higher priced Google Pixel 7a only gets 3 OS updates. The OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite offers only 2 OS updates and 3 years of security patches for a similar price.

A highlight of the Samsung Galaxy M34 is the new 50 megapixel main camera with optical image stabilization. The ultra-wide cam also gets an update from 5 to an 8-megapixel sensor. The selfie camera now has 13 megapixels instead of the previous 8. The new 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz also clearly outshines the old LCD panel of the M33. Gorilla Glass 5 protection, on the other hand, is already known. In addition, thanks to AMOLED technology, the new model now also has an always-on display.

The Samsung Galaxy M34, on the other hand, is still powered by the Exynos 1280 chipset. The RAM and storage options are also unchanged and can be expanded with virtual RAM and a microSD slot. The battery is also the same as before and still offers a capacity of 6,000 mAh and a charging power of 25 watts.

In comparison, the Samsung Galaxy A34 offers the same software support, but comes with a slightly more powerful Dimensity 1080 chipset. The 6.6-inch 120 Hz AMOLED display is slightly larger, while the 5,000 mAh (25 w) battery is significantly smaller. The camera setup is quite similar, but the A34 is IP67 dust and water resistant.

The Samsung Galaxy M34 will be available to buy on Amazon India from July 15th. Prime subscribers can already pre-order the Samsung smartphone in Midnight Blue, Prism Silver or Waterfall Blue. Prices start at ₹17,000 (€188/$206) for a 6/128GB device and go up to ₹19,000 with 8GB of RAM. However, the prices already include a discount of ₹2,000, which you can get with selected bank cards.
