The Samsung Galaxy A55 now appears regularly in the rumor mill. Support pages and repairability ratings for the Samsung cell phone have already appeared, and advertising images and cases have leaked. Today, the cherry on the cake is the first live images of Samsung’s upcoming mid-range flagship. However, anyone expecting major design changes will probably be disappointed. With the three individual camera cutouts, it still looks like almost every other Samsung smartphone on the market.

However, there is important news here, although it may not be so obvious at first glance. The Samsung Galaxy A55 will be the first model in the A5x series to feature a metal frame. The antenna cables, which can be seen on the frame, clearly point to this. This means that the A55 moves even further towards the premium segment, at least visually.

The Samsung Galaxy A55 is expected to have a camera system with three main cameras. These include a 50 megapixel main camera, a 12 megapixel ultra wide shooter and a 5 megapixel macro cam. There is also a 32 megapixel selfie camera and a flat frame with the new Key Island design. The latter describes the new power and volume buttons, which are slightly raised for easier usability. The Key Island design was first seen in the new Samsung Galaxy A15 and Galaxy A25.

The drive will be Samsung’s in-house Exynos 1480 chipset, which is equipped with AMD graphics. There are also 128 or 256 GB of storage and up to 12 GB of RAM. The A55 should finally become official in the next few weeks. The predecessor Galaxy A54 also came onto the market in mid-March last year.
