Both the Samsung Galaxy A54 and the Galaxy A34 have been haunting the rumor mill for months, but are still not official. That could finally change later this month. According to well-known and fairly diligent tipster OnLeaks, a “quite reliable source” says the two Samsung smartphones will come on March 15th. However, there is no indication from Samsung that any event is planned for this date. On the other hand, maybe there simply isn’t one and the unveiling simply happens in a press release. However, the Galaxy A5x series are Samsung’s best-selling models, so we’re guessing it’s more than just an email and a news article.
According to previous leaks, the Samsung Galaxy A54 will have a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is powered by an Exynos 1380 chipset, which accesses up to 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. The main camera has a resolution of 50 megapixels with an f/1.8 aperture. There is also a 12-megapixel ultra wide with f/2.2 aperture, a 5-megapixel macro camera and a 32-megapixel selfie camera. As with the predecessor Galaxy A53, the battery has a capacity of 5,000 mAh. It charges with a manageable 25 watts. In addition, the Samsung Galaxy A54 has water and dust protection according to IP67 and also has a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
Samsung Galaxy A34
In contrast, the Samsung Galaxy A34 gets a 6.6-inch AMOLED display, also with 120 Hz. A MediaTek Dimensity 1080 takes over the drive with up to 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. There is a 48-megapixel main camera with an f/1.8 aperture, a 5-megapixel macro camera and a depth sensor. On the front, a 13-megapixel front camera snaps selfies. The battery is identical with 5,000 mAh and 25 watt charging. Both smartphones come with Android 13 preinstalled and Samsung’s One UI 5.1 interface.
